About RECDP / SICCDA

Robert Emmet CDP & SICCDA are two community organisations that operate from community development values and principles working together with the community to create conditions for equality and social inclusion. Both organisations are in the process of a voluntary merger process to form a single charitable organisation, a process that is expected to be completed in early 2024.

We are a team of 30 community development and citizen participation experts who are passionate about building resilient and empowered communities. We currently run several practical services to meet the needs of the South West Inner City including four afterschool services, an integration programme, two social enterprises- Bee8 & In Our Shoes Walking Tours-, a community employment programme, co-ordination of Oliver Bond Regeneration Forum, The Liberties Festival and an expansive community development programme of activities including a curriculum of adult education and advocacy services.

We have been managed by voluntary board of directors since our establishment in 2003 and 1982 respectively. We receive funding to cover salaries and building costs and fundraise all other overhead and operational costs
